Michele Hurd, EA

Michele Hurd, EA has more than 25 years experience in the public accounting field. In 2011 Michele received her certificate of enrollment from the Internal Revenue Service to become a Enrolled Agent (EA). An Enrolled Agent is federally authorized in all fields of taxation to represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service.

Michele received her Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in 2006. She also holds a Associates degree in accounting and computer information sciences from Bristol Community College (1992). Michele also attends various seminars and workshops annually in the area of corporate taxes and personal income tax.

Ed Sylvia, CPA

Ed became a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Massachusetts and New York State in 1983 and in 1990 was also licensed as a Certified Financial Planner. Most recently he earned certificate in Trust and Estate Planning. He is a member of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants.

He has a Master of Science degree in Taxation from Bryant College (1992), a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Babson College (1980), and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, with a minor in Computer Science from Northeastern University (1977).

He is a corporator of Bank Five, a member of the Bristol County Estate Planning Council, and a pilot class member of the Prince Henry Society. Ed has also taught accounting and management courses at Bristol Community College, UMass Dartmouth and Lesley College. A native of New Bedford and alumnus of Bishop Stang High School. Ed resides in Fairhaven with his wife Maureen. They have four adult children.
